A quick update – we are flying back to South Africa for a few weeks to do some final preparation of our trusty old Toyota Hilux before it is shipped over to France.  What a journey its been thus far, and we haven’t even started yet. We have a long list of accessories and items to be purchased, cleaned, sorted and polished before we load the Hilux into the container bound for LaHavre port in France. Just arranging the shipping has been a challenge and its still not completely signed-off!

So on the list is the following that we need to have finalised within the next two weeks:

  • Drawer storage system
  • Dual battery system (hopefully with solar panels)
  • Water tank
  • Fridge/freezer
  • Camping equipment (rummage through the storeroom to see what we need)
  • Carnet de Passage en Douane (CPD)
  • Vehicle signage
  • Vaccination update
  • Passport application (new SA passport)
  • Collect new tent in Durban and install
  • Load up the vehicle into the container in Durban
  • Have a coffee and relax!

Whew, it will be a challenge but this is what we are best at :-)
